Weekend: ECB’s Smets says concerned about low inflation

ECB councilor Jan Smets in Handelsblatt

  • «This is why we should not be satisfied if inflation remains below our target of close to two percent»

I posted earlier on weekend comments from ECB big wig Benoît Cœuré: says he hopes bond buying will not be extended again
ps. The Handlesblatt piece will be out on Monday—Jan Smets is Governor of the Nationale Bank van België/Banque Nationale de Belgique and member of the Executive Board of the ECB
